Michael provides design and implementation support, including client education, process design, leadership team group facilitation, assessment and feedback, change management and executive coaching anchored in Work Levels principles. 

Michael brings a unique perspective with more than 25 years of experience in line and staff positions in banking, hospitality, executive search and outplacement, followed by 20 years of organization and talent systems consulting on three continents.

His work concentrates on facilitating executive sessions, as well as building the internal human capital systems and HR capacity to successfully implement and sustain best practices in talent management.

His cross-functional experience includes design and planning, restaurant and hotel operations, franchising, marketing, corporate acquisitions, executive search, outplacement, management structure design, talent management process consulting and executive coaching.

Through process and systems thinking, he has consulted in optimizing management structure, organizational alignment, high potential identification, talent acquisition, performance, development, deployment and retention. 

Early in his career at Holiday Inn, he designed and led the first cross-functional team to analyze market opportunities and design locally competitive operations that yielded 100% success rate and an average 67% ROI across 30 properties. At the same time, he co-managed the Living Design Lab, researching the impact of hotel room innovations and guest utilization, which in turn led to the guest suite hotel concept.

    Co-facilitated management structure analysis at Tupperware, Rockwell Automation and Spectrum Healthcare. Developed executive role profiles based on Work Levels for QuadGraphics and Road America.
  • Executive Talent Review Facilitation
    Facilitated talent reviews for the Appleton Group, Avnet, Emerson Process Management, Littlefuse, M&I Bank, OSF Healthcare and Synovus Financial.
  • Feedback and Coaching
    Facilitated assessment and feedback for executive teams at Abt Associates, Actuant, Avnet, Emerson Process Management, Grant Thornton, Jones Lang LaSalle, Littlefuse, M&I Bank, OSF HealthCare, AECOM and Synovus Financial, coaching high potentials for the above as well as Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management Division, Follett Corporation, Herman Miller and dozens of additional companies.
  • Master Faculty
    With his two partners, Michael has certified more than 3,500 HR / OD professionals in Hay/Korn Ferry Leadership Architect Suite of development tools, the Succession Architect and Strategic Effectiveness Architect processes.
    Served as an adjunct faculty for Kraft Foods High Potential Development program.
    Contributed to authoring the FYI for Strategic Effectiveness Architect.
