Terry Seigel

Strategic Advisor — Energy Transition

Terry Seigel is a strategic partner at FutureZero, focusing on organization design, CEO succession planning and selection, and long-term incentive plan design, all aligned to shareholder and societal value and the energy transition to net zero. 

Terry has more than 40 years of line experience and 20 years of consulting experience, providing advice to C-Suites across many business sectors. This includes utilities, mining, manufacturing, technology, marketing, financial services, and consumer products. 

He began his career in the trades, and moved up through the ranks to senior management roles in operations, maintenance, and engineering in the power utility and nuclear power sectors. He has worked with organizations including Falconbridge Nickel Mines, Ontario Hydro, Ontario Power Generation, CPS Energy, and Omaha Public Power District.

Terry was director of nuclear fuel handling for Ontario Power Generation, and has commissioned or refurbished ten nuclear reactors around the world over the last 30 years. 

Terry has been board chair for two municipal utilities in North America. 

He retired from Ontario Power Generation in 2002, and has focused on consulting over the last twenty years on organizational design, strategic leadership and human capital systems based on the work levels.

His advisory work has continued for C-Suite and boards in the utility sector around the world, including a focus on the design of utilities for Carbon Free Energy (CFE) and their required strategic leadership capacity for business model transformation. 

Terry is a popular and respected speaker globally on managerial leadership, organizational design, and executive succession planning.
